Le Meridien President, Dakar

In briefing ReardonSmith to undertake a master planning exercise across this 35-hectare site, Le Meridien sought not only to augment the already substantial convention facilities but to broaden the Hotel's offering to attract the national and international leisure market.

ReardonSmith's overall concept, therefore, focused on opening up the relationship between the site and the sea and on enhancing the landscaping in between. A number of new facilities were introduced including a spa, marina, helipad, golf clubhouse and a football academy complete with a full size international pitch. Within the Hotel, the public areas were completely re-planned to capture views across the gardens to the ocean and become a hub for both conference and leisure guests. ReardonSmith also explored options for adding some 180 guestrooms with the alternatives of either a new landmark tower or extensions to the existing hotel and further accommodation was introduced by way of luxury villas.
