Sundras Naidoo

Technical Director

Sundras is a qualified Architectural Technologist with over 30 years’ experience working in the UK, Ireland, and South Africa. He has developed a strong reputation for leadership, technical delivery and a practical, collaborative approach to projects.

Since joining ReardonSmith Architects in 2013, Sundras has worked on a broad range of hospitality and high-end projects across Europe, Ireland and the United Kingdom. His technical knowledge and project-running experience, together with his contribution to strengthening the Practice’s technical capability, led to his promotion to Technical Director in 2015.

Sundras has performed senior roles for the Practice on major projects in Greece, Montenegro, Azerbaijan, Ireland and London. In Ireland, he played a key role leading the ReardonSmith Team responsible for documenting the technical stages for the multi-million-euro redevelopment of Adare Manor, centred on the conservation and sensitive redevelopment of the 19th-century Manor House, together with a new five-storey bedroom wing, ballroom extension, and restoration of several ancillary historic buildings. He subsequently led the site team during the construction and handover phases.

He also led the delivery of RIBA Work Stages 3 - 7 for the enhancement and extension of The Beaumont Hotel in Mayfair, London. More recently, Sundras undertook a key role in the development of the Six Senses Resort in Greece, which involved the transformation of a former 1970s three-star hotel into a 62-room luxury resort with 10 residential villas. He led the project team through RIBA Work Stages 2 - 4 before handover to the local delivery team.

As Technical Director, a role he shares with his co-Technical Director, Sundras is responsible for reviewing and overseeing the Practice’s technical output, mentoring staff, and contributing to the continuous development of office standards and policies. He also shares responsibility for the Practice’s ISO 9001 certification, ensuring the maintenance of robust quality management procedures across all areas of project delivery.

Known for his attention to detail, Sundras continues to support the delivery of high-quality projects through clear technical direction, effective team collaboration and a strong commitment to professional standards.

Outside of work, Sundras enjoys running, hiking and golf, as well as gardening and taking on creative DIY projects. He has always had a fascination with engineering and high-performance machines, from supercars to aircraft such as the SR-71 Blackbird. He enjoys finding out how things work, what makes them perform and the ingenuity behind their design.
